Parisian Blonde
Starting today, it’s going to be all holiday cocktails all the time. They’re going to be sparkling, they’re going to be full of spice and they’re going to be super creamy! And of course all the ones here on the blog will be vintage. So, no matter what you’re preference, I got you covered.
Today we’re starting with the Parisian Blonde, a creamy cocktail that’s full of citrus and spice. It’s a nice treat when you’re in the mood for something creamy but don’t want to make the super boozy eggnog. It’s also made for one person. See, while I love eggnog, most recipes (including mine) are made to serve a crowd. You won’t have that problem with the Blonde.
Originally appearing in Harry Craddock’s, 1930’s Savoy Cocktail Book, this classic is perfect for the holiday season. Not only is it full of creamy, sweet goodness, it’s also made with funky Jamaican rum and Orange Curaçao, giving it a nice citrus flavor with some underlying nutty tones. That flavor combination definitely gives it a tropical feel, making it the perfect drink for those who love tiki cocktails. But unlike most tiki drinks which have four to 10 ingredients, this drink only has three, making it an easy choice during this festive time of year. I love this drink and could easily have a few while snuggled up by the fire watching classics like White Christmas or It’s a Wonderful Life (two of my favorite Christmas movies).
